# Versions

> See every guardrail version applied to an AI system, and roll back to an earlier one.

Every time guardrails are applied, Altrum keeps the settings as a numbered version. Versions never change once applied, so you can always see what was enforced and when.

**Versions** in the guardrail editor lists each version with:

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Version** | Its number. The live one is marked **Live**. |
| **Made** | **Set by hand**, or **From an assessment** when completing an assessment applied it. |
| **By** | Who applied it. |
| **On** | When. |

## Roll back

Choose **Roll back** on an earlier version and confirm. Its settings replace your draft and go live as a new version, so the history only moves forward. A message says the version is live again.

Versions and roll back are hidden while an assessment is open. Complete the assessment first.

Your organization's guardrails keep their own numbered versions, separate from every AI system's. They are always **Set by hand**.
